I am a proud professional Unit 1 dues paying member since 2013. I have worked in all three areas of this district starting in Administrative Services as an Office Assistant at LAHC working in Payroll, promoting to Senior Secretary in Academic Affairs at WLAC before promoting to Administrative Aide (Curriculum), then transferring to Administrative Services. I also worked as a provisional Student Programs Specialist at LATTC, and most currently an Executive Assistant in the Office of Information Technology at the ESC/District Office.
My experience has provided me with comprehensive and direct knowledge of our district, campus cultures, and the employment landscape for classified staff. Serving as the current Grievance Secretary for our Guild has been a privilege that has afforded me the opportunity to personally witness failures in current leadership that create great vulnerabilities for our guild. We cannot afford to gamble with our careers or the future of this guild by accepting what may look good enough when we have the capacity to be GREAT.
